How does Axonics Therapy work?

Axonics Therapy provides gentle stimulation to the nerves that control the bladder and bowel, which can restore normal control and result in symptom improvement.

1 - As your bladder and bowel fills, nerve signals are sent to your brain to alert you.

2 - The brain sends nerve signals down to empty your bladder and bowel.

3 - Axonics Therapy uses a miniature implant to provide gentle stimulation to the nerves that control the bladder and bowel. This can help restore normal communication between the brain and the bladder and bowel, which can results in an improvement of your symptoms.

Axonics Trial System

Axonics Therapy starts with an easy trial system that lets you experience first-hand if this therapy works for you.

To see if Axonics Therapy is right for you, you will undergo a short period of therapy using a temporary system. The evaluation period allows you to experience the level of symptom relief the therapy may provide before you commit to long-term therapy.

Make an appointment here to discuss this with a board-certified urologist.

Long-term Therapy

If you and your doctor determine that Axonics Therapy is right for you, you will have an outpatient procedure where the miniaturized Axonics implant is placed just beneath the skin in the upper part of your buttock.
