Celebrating Dr. Sutchin Patel’s AUA History Exhibit
At UroPartners, we are incredibly proud of our team of world-class urologists. Today, we are shining a spotlight on a unique achievement by one of our own: Sutchin R. Patel, MD, FACS.
At the American Urological Association's (AUA) 2026 Annual Meeting, Dr. Patel curated a major historical exhibition titled Explorations: Urology and Extreme Environments. The exhibit takes a fascinating look into how extreme conditions—from battlefield medicine to the depths of space flight—have pushed the boundaries of urological care and shaped the modern tools we use today.
A Champion of Medical History
While Dr. Patel’s patients know him for his exceptional clinical care and kidney stone expertise, his peers know him as one of the country's leading authorities on medical history.
Dr. Patel has been actively involved with the AUA’s William P. Didusch Center for Urologic History since 2011. His curation of the 2026 exhibit comes right on the heels of receiving the prestigious 2025 William P. Didusch Art & History Award for his immense contributions to the field. This adds to his decorated history honors, which include the 2011 AUA Earl Nation Retrospectroscope Award for his paper, Standing on The Shoulders Of Giants: Teaching The History Of Urology.
