This mission was recently highlighted by Dr. Thomas Will of UroPartners during his appearance on ABC7 Chicago Streaming, where he underscored a vital message: early screening for prostate cancer can save lives.

UroPartners joined the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk in Chicago onSunday, September 21st, at Diversey Harbor, to support this powerful message.

Dr. Will emphasized that a simple conversation with your doctor and a PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) blood test are the first crucial steps. This proactive approach allows for a range of options, from active surveillance to targeted treatments, all aimed at preserving your quality of life.

Why You Should Know Your Risk:

• Age: Risk increases with age, especially after 50.
• Family History: If your father, brother, or son had prostate cancer, your risk is higher.
• Ethnicity: African American men have a higher risk and are more likely to develop aggressive forms of the disease.
• Veterans: Studies show veterans are also at an increased risk.

Knowing your personal risk factors and discussing them with a board-certified urologist is paramount.
